Searching for steel

For a couple of months now we have been managing, tweaking and refining our steel search swicki, (the search box to the right of this posting).

The principal behind a swicki, is that the users refine the results to improve relevancy. Whilst in the early days the swicki gives the same general type of results that most search engines give, over time by promoting the most relevant sites and excluding irrelevant ones, the results become more useful and accurate.

Whilst we still have some way to go with the steel search swicki, it is beginning to come together, and already (in my opinion) is a significant improvement over general search engines.
