Steel News roundup

In a slower week for steel news, I've composed a quick round-up with links to the stories that I have spotted

Salzgitterin talks to acquire Canada's Algoma Steel.

Algoma is active in a range of specialized steel businesses, including plate steel manufacture for shipbuilding as well as hot and cold rolled carbon steel products for the North American auto industry.

Arcelor Mittal to build Saudi steel mill.

Arcelor and Mittal Steel, currently joining to become the world's largest steel producer, said yesterday they would build a steel mill in Saudi Arabia to supply the oil industry.

Esmark, partners aim to buy Pa. steel plant

Esmark Inc., the fast-growing Illinois company that vows to dominate the Midwest steel market, said Monday it has teamed up with international partners to buy the assets of Winner Steel Inc. in Sharon, Pa.

If I have missed a biggie, let me know!
