Despite denials from Severstal, Tata and Corus, rumours are still circulating about Severstal and the Corus "long products" plants.
Last year Severstal was linked along with Tata and CSN to be interested in making a bid for Corus.
Whilst Tata finally acquired back in January, reports have continued to appear about an offer for the Scunthorpe plant by the Russian steelmaker of an estimated $1.9 million for the North Eastern Corus plant.
Severstal have made no secret of their ambitions of global expansion, maybe a UK steel plant could be the next to join their portfolio.
