UK manfacturing output increases

UK manufacturing output rose at its fastest pace since July 2004 in February, with firms also pushing through hefty price increases.
The CIPS/RBS Purchasing Managers Index rose to 55.4, ( an index above 50 indicates expansion) up from 53.2 in January and well above market forecasts of a slight dip to 53.0.
Export orders also grew at the fastest rate in more than three years, despite the strength of the pound against the dollar, with total orders growth also at a two-year high.
The latest data echoes a survey from the Confederation of British Industry that last month showed factory orders rising rapidly.
