China steel to raise prices by 17.8%

Taiwan's top steel maker said today that they were to increase domestic steel prices by 17.8% in the 3rd quarter to reflect higher raw material costs and demand.

The raise, missing the 20 percent rise expected by investors, comes after some rivals such as POSCO had increased prices by 20% in April.
