Firefox exploit code was a wind-up

One of the hackers who demonstrated exploit code for a vulnerability in the way the Firefox browser handles JavaScript at a hacker conference in San Diego admitted yesterday that the presentation was meant to be a joke, according to the chief of security for Mozilla.

There are many reports, some of which are linked below which reveal that the, so called "disastrous implementation of JavaScript" in Firefox left the browser dangerously vulnerable was a hoax! It's probably as well for the hackers that they did not publicly make similar statements about Microsoft's Internet explorer, or they may have been facing a sizeable lawsuit.
