Steel firm could axe 150 workers before Christmas

THREE out of four jobs could be axed at Sheffield spring maker Tinsley Bridge.

A total of 150 jobs could go by Christmas even though the company has been busier than ever this year.
Workers say the company announced the redundancies yesterday, but no one from the Shepcote Lane business was available to comment.
Tinsley Bridge hit problems because of a £5 million pension deficit, which has been hanging like a millstone around the spring manufacturer's neck for the last four years.
