AK Steel Increases Carbon Steel Prices

AK Steel said Wednesday that it will increase spot market prices for its carbon steel products by $40 per ton for all new orders accepted for shipment on April 1, 2007 and later.

According to a statement released by AK Steel, the price increase is in response to increased demand for carbon steel products, as well as the need to recover higher costs for steelmaking inputs.

Headquartered in Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for the automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
