Global steel prices rising

I have been seeing reports for the past month of price rises in Europe, India and China. The latest MEPS report notes that Nucor are increasing prices from March by $US20 on the back of rising costs and increasing demand, particularly for hot rolled. Pressure is building up on Canadian prices too, with imports reducing.

The full report can be seen by following the link below.

Actually Nucor announced an additional $40/tn increase for April about a week ago. Perhaps you should be getting your North American steel news from someone who writes about tons rather than tonnes?

I would love to get my "Stateside" news earlier, perhaps I am reading the wrong newsfeeds. I would welcome a pointer in the right direction :)
